I am not saying you are mentally abnormal. All I am saying is, you are not mentally fit. 75-80 % of your problems are only due to your mental unfitness. You are living in an unrealistic imaginary world. You are using your mind for overthinking of wrong things rather than limited thinking of the right things. Overthinking is the art of creating the problems that weren’t even there.
Here I am quoting a quote,” There is nothing in this world that can trouble you as much as your thought”.
If I talk in the scientific language then, you are only using 2-3% of your brain. Now, the question is, why you are not able to use your brain efficiency even up to 10 %?
The reason behind it is simple, you are wasting your brain power in unrealistic expectation. You live in a world where you expect everything according to you. But when it does not happen, you become sad, depressed, angry. My question to you is, do you able to fulfill all the expectations that you do from yourself? The answer is no. Because no one can fulfill all his/her expectations. Then why you become angry or sad when someone doesn’t do as per your expectation. Your negative emotions decrease your brain efficiency. To become a mental fit, you have to change yourself. To explain better, Here I am mentioning the poem by a Monk of 1100 A.D.You already heard this earlier
When I was a young man, I wanted to change the world.
I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation.
When I found I couldn’t change the nation, I began to focus on my town. I couldn’t change the town and as an older man, I tried to change my family.
Now, as an old man, I realize the only thing I can change is myself, and suddenly I realize that if long ago I had changed myself, I could have made an impact on my family. My family and I could have made an impact on our town. Their impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have changed the world.
How greatly explained. Whole life we spend in finding the flaws in the outer world. That is the reason we never able to find ourselves.
To be mentally fit, you have to learn the art to conquer your mind.
It’s not tough, you just need to be realistic in terms of desires and expectations. You don’t need to expect fish to fly and birds to swim. Bit funny example, but its reality. All your mental problems are due to unrealistic expectations and unrealistic desire.
You have to realistic in terms of your thought. You can’t imagine the power of your mind. What screws you most in your life is the picture in your head of how it is supposed to be.
Your brain energy per day is limited, if you keep wasting this on the unnecessary things, then you will not be able to use it in the proper way. To clear this point, I want to give you an example:
During a QnA With Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg when someone asked: “Why do you wear the same T-shirt every day?”
“I really want to clear my life to make it so that I have to make as few decisions as possible about anything except how to best serve this community. Additionally, He said even small decisions like choosing what to wear or what to eat for breakfast could be tiring and energy consuming, and he doesn’t want to waste any time on that.
If you notice this answer carefully, he is clearly mentioning that brain energy is limited.
If you don’t use it the right way, it’s your loss.
And If you think, all your unrealistic desires and expectations would vanish with time then you are wrong my dear.
